I am Monique Wallace, the PROUD principal of T. Wingate Andrews High School.
I have been in education since 1997 and a principal since 2004.
I am a native of sunny Miami, Florida. I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee,
Fl. In 1995, I earned a BA in English and Special Certification in African New World Studies from Florida
International University. My love of education fostered during my tenure as a substitute teacher in the
Miami-Dade County Public Schools. In 1997, I relocated to North Carolina and began my teaching career at
the former Lincoln Middle School as a Language Arts/ Social Studies teacher. From 2000- 2003, I taught
Language Arts and Social Studies at Southeast Middle School. In 2004, I earned a Master of School
Administration from the University of North Carolina –Greensboro (UNC-G). Prior to becoming the principal
of T. Wingate Andrews High School, I served as an assistant principal at Western Guilford High School.
I am currently working towards a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from UNC-G.
I reside in High Point with my husband, Desi and our two children. I enjoy going to the movies, traveling,
eating at new restaurants, and spending time with my family.
